Cystic-fibrosis

Cystic fibrosis, a.k.a. mucoviscidosis or fibrocystic disease of the pancreas, is a genetic condition characterized by an impairment of the glands that produce mucus, sweat, enzymes, and saliva. The respiratory and digestive systems are deeply affected, both by chronic, difficult-to-treat conditions involving bacterial infections in the case of the former, and malnutrition in the case of the latter.
