Asthma
Asthma is a chronic and reversible inflammatory airway disease that results from hyperreactivity. Acute exacerbation triggered by an endogenous or exogenous stimulus causes the “asthmatic crisis” that is characterized by reversible bronchoconstriction, edema and increased mucus secretion of bronchial epithelial cells. Genetic factors are involved in the development and onset of the disease.
