Cystitis
Cystitis is an infection caused mainly by bacteria, as well as by some other microorganisms such as fungi and parasites, affecting the urinary bladder. The terms “urinary tract” or “urinary bladder” infections are also used to refer to cystitis. Urinary infections or cystitis are rare in men, and their occurrence suggests that there is another primary infectious focus, generally in the genital apparatus. Besides, prostate hyperplasia, prostatitis and urethral stenosis are risk factors for cystitis.
