Allergy
This term is used to describe the altered reaction of an individual upon contact with a specific antigen. Generally it is a localized process. Allergic reactions are the result of the interaction between IgE and a specific antigen, producing a series of biochemical sequences inside the mastocytes and basophils that, in the end, determine the release of chemical mediators of the inflammation.
