Chronic and Acute Bronchitis
Bronchitis is a term used to define the inflammation of bronchi. Since this process does not only affect the bronchi, but also the trachea, this pathological condition should in fact be known as tracheobronchitis.
Inflammation of this part of the respiratory tract can be acute or chronic, or a chronic condition with acute episodes. Such environmental factors as smoking, pollution, fog, and cold weather, or working with dust or harmful gases, are usually key elements in the genesis of bronchial infections, no matter whether to predispose or to facilitate its development.
